Realigning the BDD?

Should the BDD be realigned to make it more competitive? I think this football season has shown that the BDD should be looked at. In every sport but basketball, the district championship has been pretty much between Honaker and Haysi for what? The past 14 years? I know this will probably ruffle some feathers with Hurley, Council, and Twin Valley, but I for one am tired of people saying the BDD is a "two school district". I would love to see Lebanon and Grundy join the Black Diamond. You would have to admit we would have a great district if that happened. Football would be more competitive and the district wouldn't be decided in one game in week 5. Things would be absolutely brutal in basketball and baseball as well!

Lebanon and Grundy would be nice additions and definitely make things more competitive in all sports. I think Grundy would join if they dropped down but don't think Lebanon will join for travel reasons.

Clintwood would probably be better off competition wise in the BDD but they would be a lot worse off travel wise. They have a 45 minute to an hour as their longest trip. In the BDD they would have to Go to Hurley and Twin Valley both easily over an hour and a half.

I really wish Clintwood and Ervinton and possibly Grundy would join the BDD. It would add to the competition and it would be great for our district. I know that Haysi and Honaker wouldn't win every year like they usually do with the exception of basketball but it would cause Honaker and Haysi to work a little harder and would improve our district overall. I wouldn't care if Pound joined too but the other districts need teams as well. Graham would probably go to the BDD if they drop. They have the numbers.

I have heard rumors about grundy dropping down to Single A and joining the BDD. That would definantly make the district alot stronger. I would also not mind seeing other schools such as ervinton, pound, or lebanon to join as well. It would definantly make it an all-over great district. The competition level is kinda low besides Haysi and Honaker, no offense TV, Hurley, and Council. It would make things very interesting.

Clintwood would be better off in the BDD, competition wise, and travel wise too right? It really wouldn't surprise me if Grundy joins the BDD next year, because where the VHSL has started counting grades 9-12 towards attendence, Grayson county will have to join the SWD, and I'd say goin down to Carrol County has to be bad enough let alone adding a trip to Grayson county.
